Residents of Greater Moncton are being encouraged to show their colours during Pride Week in the region.
The annual event celebrates diversity and the LGBT community with concerts, sporting events, movies, karaoke and much more.
River of Pride president Zivi Richard says this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.
“We actually have 38 events this year. It’s an exciting year for us. It probably has something to do with the fact that we have four staff now and an office.”
More than 6,000 people took part in last year’s Pride parade in Moncton.
Richard says even bigger numbers are expected at this year’s parade on Saturday (August 25), which starts at 1:30pm and runs along Main Street from the subway to Downing Street.
