Canada Bread in Moncton has announced it’s supporting Headstart’s annual school supplies drive.
The company is donating a truckload of supplies worth about $7000.
Spokesperson Ashley Coady says Canada Bread is issuing a challenge to others.
“If the other companies in the area are looking to give back to the community, obviously the Headstart program is a great opportunity to give back. if they can’t get onboard for the school supplies, the Toy Drive is coming up for Christmas time,” Coady says.
Coady adds Canada Bread makes a donation to a worthy charity every year through its corporate good neighbour program.
It was day 7 of the Moncton Headstart school supplies drive yesterday. They have seen 722 students come in so far and pick up school supplies. They are still in need of red, yellow, orange and green duotangs, black dry erase markers, USB Sticks, and Character book bags for Kindergarten to grade 2.
The drive wraps up at the end of the month.
Donations can be made at Jean Coutu locations in Greater Moncton and at Moncton Headstart on Mountain Road.
