Time is running out for the winner of a $289,796 lottery ticket to claim their prize.
Atlantic Lottery Corporation spokesperson Natalie Belliveau says the winning Lotto Max ticket was purchased August 25th, 2017 in Charlottetown, PEI.
She says with that province being a hotspot for tourism, they are encouraging everyone who visited last summer to check their trailers, cottages, backpacks, and summer clothing for the ticket.
Prizes must be claimed within 12 months of the draw date and any unclaimed winnings are put into a special pot used to create extra prizes for players.
This is the third major unclaimed prize in PEI: a Lotto 6/49 ticket for the July 28th, 2018 draw worth $69,850, and a TAG ticket worth $100,000 from the August 15th, 2018 draw date are the other two.
