The Town of Riverview has been fielding calls about a boil water order, after a photograph of a notification letter began circulating on social media.
Town Spokesperson Meghan Cross offered clarification, “On November 3rd, there was a water main break, and advisories were issued to Riverview Middle School was affected and four nearby residences. Those properties all received hand delivered notices, advising them of the precautionary measures, because they were the only ones impacted.. 48 hours later, when the test results came back clear, they were also notified that the advisory had been lifted.”
Cross says if residents are ever affected by a drinking water advisory, they will receive a hand delivered advisory containing information about those precautions.
“If the advisory affects multiples residences, we will be contacting our local media partners so it can be broadcast. It will also be posted on the Town website and on social media. We also encourage everyone to sign up online to receive Town notifications, via email,” Cross adds.
