Last year, vehicle thefts increased by 28 per cent in New Brunswick, according to an annual report on the top ten stolen vehicles by the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
In Atlantic Canada, the top three most stolen vehicles are a 2009 Nissan Maxima, a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, and a 2011 Jeep Liberty.
Nationally, the top five spots were taken up by Ford F350s, from 2003 to 2007.
According to Statistics Canada, police reported close to 85,000 incidents of motor vehicle theft nationally in 2017, marking a six per cent increase over the previous year.
