The Moncton Wildcats have recorded a 22 per cent increase in attendance in the first three months of this season compared to a year before.
81,163 fans have attended the first 17 games of this season at the $104 million Avenir Centre – an average of 4,774 per game.
That’s compared to the first 17 games of the last season at the Moncton Coliseum, which saw an attendance of 63,370 over that time period, averaging 3,727 per game.
The average attendance per game for the first 17 games from the last three years has hovered in the 3,700 range:
- 2015-2016: attendance was 64,647 (average of 3,792 per game.)
- 2016-2017: attendance was 64,599 (average of 3,799 per game.)
- 2017-2018: attendance was 63,370 (average of 3,727 per game.)
- 2018-2019: attendance was 81,163 (average of 4,774 per game.)
The Avenir Centre has a seating capacity of 8,800, almost a third more than the Coliseum at 6,554.
