Ford F-series pickup truck owners will want to listen to this recall from the car company.
Last week, the company launched a recall of select 2015-2019 F-150, and 2017-2019 Super Duty vehicles with engine block heaters.
Water and contaminants can get into the block heater cable’s connector, causing corrosion and damage over time, with the potential for causing shorts, and even a fire.
Ford says there is only a danger when the vehicle is parked, and the block heater is plugged into an electrical outlet.
The company is aware of three fires as a result of this flaw.
Of the 874, 000 vehicles affected in North America, more than half (463, 793) were sold in Canada.
