The federal government is funding the Conseil économique du Nouveau Brunswick to help female visible minority newcomers fully integrate.
The $270,000 will allow the organization to deliver programming more relevant for women, especially visible minority newcomer women.
This is part of a three year pilot project by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
Statistics show visible minority newcomer women are more likely to be unemployed (9.7%), and to have the lowest median annual income of all newcomer groups (at $26,624) .
Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe MP Ginette Petitpas Taylor says this funding is designed to help address those concerns.
