Witness Scott Gallagher says he was driving by with his family when he saw a car crashed into the trees.
He approached the vehicle to see if the woman inside needed help.
“I said well are you alright, because that car is broke, the way she drove it into the woods,” says Gallagher. “I said are you alright? She’s like no, I’m fine, I’m fine just leave me alone, and I said okay, well your vehicle is wrecked you should probably get some help, a tow truck or something.”
She responded with “no, don’t call the cops.”
Gallagher proceeded to call 911 anyway out of concern for her safety, and the safety of any passengers that might have been in the car – he was unable to be sure if there were any, as he reports the windows were heavily tinted.
He says when first responders arrived they approached the vehicle and he saw the back window of the car blow out and heard what he believes were two gunshots.
RCMP say roads in the area will remain closed until they complete their investigation.
