Recently, a few of us got into a conversation revolving around education, more specifically what kids need to learn. We talked about how many times over the years we have had to use our in-depth knowledge of trigonometry or calculus. I can’t remember how many times I have needed to figure out the old train versus car riddles..you know the ones…”A train and car are travelling along the same track at the same time at a speed of……”. Those riddles have helped me in so many situations….not! Most recently some students in Moncton were protesting climate change and the environment and caught by photo was one of the most common grammar mistakes…you know the ones.. their, they’re,there, your, you’re…oh to know when to use each one. One such student took time from their school day to join fellow students in a group protest on climate change and the environment, I do hope English was not one of the classes she missed .
