A unique activity will kick off this summer’s Congrès Mondial Acadien.
The “Run Under the Star” is a midnight run on the Confederation Bridge, linking Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
Runners have the option of racing the length of the bridge, 13 kilometres, beginning on the New Brunswick side and ending in P.E.I., or starting partway on the bridge and running five kilometres.
Events for the congress include live music and a number of Acadian family reunions and will be held in both New Brunswick and on the Island.
The run will be held on August 10th and will be limited to 1000 participants, for safety reasons.
After the race, there will be a gathering with musical entertainment by Danny Party.
All off-island participants will be provided with a free bridge pass to get back to New-Brunswick.
Runners will receive a swag bag containing a t-shirt, glow stick, event map and more goodies.
All runners will receive a commemorative medal and category winners will receive a CMA2019 MidnightRun trophy.
