Motorcycle enthusiasts will come together in the Moncton area tomorrow to Ride for Hunger.
It is an annual event that raises funds for the Food Depot Alimentaire.
President of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle group Rick Nicholson was a police officer for 29 years, and this is a cause that is close to his heart.
“I did general duty to specialized units. During my tenure, I saw so many people who were in need around us in so many communities. When I worked the streets, so often I would stop in to a food centre where they were having dinners and lunches and you often got to see and speak to people who were homeless.”
Registration runs from 11am until 1pm, with the ride beginning at Toys for Big Boys at 1:15.
They will ride through various back roads that are very scenic , through the Petitcodiac area, Cornhill area, into Smith’s Creek area and then into Sussex where they will end at the 8th Hussars Sports Centre.
Nicholson hopes to see around 100 riders take part.
