Due to mechanical difficulties, a plane from the Moncton Flight College had to make an emergency landing.
Just before 1pm Monday, RCMP say a two-seater plane landed on Highway 16, about one kilometre from the Confederation Bridge.
Mounties say the pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft which landed without incident and there were no injuries.
The plane, however, sustained some damage due to wood along the side of the road.
Highway 16 was reduced to one lane and fire crews helped direct traffic until the plane was moved to nearby Cape Jourimain.
