In years past I have dabbled with trying to grow tomatos and peppers in planters on my deck and it worked out pretty good . This year I decided to take things a step further. I built a raised garden bed and filled it with compost soil, which initially I thought would be “a few” large bags. Boy, was I under estimating how much it would take, 15 large bags amounting to almost a thousand litres of soil when into my simple little garden bed. This year we are starting small with some lettuce, peas and green beans and we are trying brussel sprouts. If all goes well, I will expand the bed for next year. As you can see from the pic, so far,so good!
