So, sitting on my deck last night enjoying a lovely evening in Boundary Creek, when suddenly a guest appeared to visit our flowers. I was a little confused as it flew and fed like a Hummingbird, which we do have a pair that frequent the deck, but it looked like a moth. Turns out, it is a Hummingbird Hawk-moth, which I found out after a quick Google search. Apparently, they a common in North America, but actually spotting one is rare. And to take it a step further, they say it means this if you actually spot one!
“An animal of wonder, the clearwing hummingbird moth can bring forth the enchanting spirit of our own nature. When you see this spirit animal, allow yourself to open up to the magic of nature and its elements. They enter your life as a messenger for change.”
I can tell you this, they are tough little buggers to get a good photo of!
