A longtime Progressive Conservative staffer, former NB Liquor CEO and current Dieppe city councillor-at-large has captured Moncton East from the Liberals.
Daniel Allain says it’s clear the residents of the riding want a strong voice in Fredericton.
Allain says the economy and the pandemic are just a couple of issues he wants to tackle right away.
“The mayor has clearly indicated that affordable housing and homelessness are her number one priority. We have the widening of Elmwood Drive that’s going to spur economic development in our riding also. And I think schools and daycares.”
Allain says better internet access is also needed especially in rural areas – something which he was surprised to find out during the campaign.
Liberal Monique LeBlanc had been the MLA for Moncton East.
She was first elected in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018.
