A brand new fitness club is coming to Atlantic Canada.
Planet Fitness will open its first Maritime location in Moncton next month.
Spokesperson Jessica Sisk Roehle says one of the things that sets them apart, is they are the home of the judgement free zone, “We cater to the 99 per cent. First time gym goers, people that are maybe a little less confident who suffer from gymtimidation.”
This will be the first Planet Fitness club to enter the city of Moncton, and the first-ever club in the Atlantic region.
Sisk Roehle says, “We toured a lot throughout the Maritimes. Moncton is a dynamic city. It is growing , it is diverse, and I think that mirrors the demographics we see in our gym. A very diverse population, all ages. I think we’ll have a nice synergy there.”
The new Moncton location is approximately 21,000 sq. feet, will offer brand new cardio machines, new fully-equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, many full-size flat-screen televisions, a 30-minute express circuit, two massage chairs, two hydro lounges, two hydro beds, stand up and lay down tanning beds, and one Total Body Enhancement booth.
As for the exact opening date for the new club to be located at 80 Mapleton Road, Sisk Roehle would only say it will be in late December, “I’ve opened enough restaurants and gyms now, that I don’t confirm until I am on the date. You never know what is going to happen, but everything is going really well. We are targetting December and I don’t see any problem because everything is going really, really well.”
According to a news release, Planet Fitness is one of the largest and fastest-growing global franchisors and operators of fitness clubs, with more members than any other fitness brand.
