For the past eight years, Natalie Noel has been spreading a festive feeling to the homeless and seniors.
Founder of the group Full Belly’s Natalie Noel aims to provide all year round, but at this time of year, it’s stockings.
She hands them out, along with other volunteers to the homeless on Christmas Eve, “For the homeless, we go to the soup kitchens on Christmas eve to hand the stockings out. With COVID this year though, things might be a little different because they are being given take out containers instead of eating inside.”
She says it has been especially hard this year due to the pandemic, “There are more homeless out there, more people that are struggling. I thought it would be a great opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face with a stocking whether it be for the seniors who live alone and don’t have kids or those living on the streets.”
Noel says she would like to fill 300 stockings for the homeless, filling them with things like toiletries, hats, gloves and scarves, and insulated mugs for coffee or hot chocolate.”
For the seniors, she would like to fill a couple hundred stockings full of things like slippers, socks and puzzle books to start.
