Physical And Mental Health And Wellness More Important Than Ever

Opening a new business can’t be easy especially in a pandemic.

A new fitness club will open its first Atlantic Canada location in Moncton.

Spokesperson for Planet Fitness Jessica Sisk Roehle says she isn’t concerned about opening while COVID-19 is still around, “I would say it is not the easiest time to open right now, that’s true. At the same time, I think our physical and mental health wellness have never been more important.”

She feels confident that if anyone can open a gym well in a pandemic, it is them, ” We have all of the latest and best cleaning and sanitizing measures.”

Sisk Roehle says they need to think about the future, “I think you have to keep moving forward. We are hearing about vaccines and we definitely see a light at the end of the tunnel. From all indications, we see that people will want to return to the gym when this passes. We want to be ready for them.”

Planet Fitness will open in Moncton later this month on Mapleton Road in Moncton.

According to a news release, Planet Fitness is one of the largest and fastest-growing global franchisers and operators of fitness clubs, with more members than any other fitness brand.

They were founded in 1992 in Dover, New Hampshire.

As of March 31, 2020, Planet Fitness had more than 15.5 million members and 2,039 stores in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico and Australia.

Sisk Roehle says, “They are the home of the judgement free zone.”
