Long-time broadcaster and marketing professional, Marty Kingston is running for Councillor-at-Large on Moncton’s City Council.
Kingston, a former Play-by-play announcer for the Wildcats, had previously announced his intent to run before the elections were postponed due to COVID-19.
He intends to focus on the Hub City’s growth and hopes to address homelessness, drug addiction and mental health issues.
Kingston is keen on serving the city as it navigates through the pandemic and eventually transitions to a post-pandemic era.
” It’s important we support the business sector in rebounding from this pandemic. We need to balance responsible and sustainable growth while being able to properly support and protect, our citizens and infrastructure,” he said.
He had a 20-year career in marketing and sales roles with NAPA Canada and has experience in the news industry in Moncton, Halifax and Toronto.
Pierre Boudreau is currently serving his fifth term as the Councillor-at-Large.
