The Executive Director of the Riverview Boys and Girls Club has thrown her hat in the ring for Town Council.
Lynda Carey announced her intent to represent the people of Ward 3 in the upcoming municipal elections.
Born and raised in West Riverview, Carey has held her position with the Riverview Boys and Girls Club for over 12 years, impacting the lives of more than 1400 children, youth, and their families each year.
Carey’s focus if elected include:
- Maintaining the tax rate
- Street work (paving and resurfacing)
- Supporting all children and youth with learning and recreational opportunities
- Pest Control (rat problem)
- Moving town initiatives forward (overcoming what often seems like analysis paralysis)
- Ensuring the residents of Ward 3 feel heard and improving upon transparency and communication between town council and citizens.
- Protecting our seniors
Carey was a recipient of the Canada 150 Community Leader Award
Jeremy Thorne has been the Councillor for ward 3 since May of 2016.
