
Patrick Richard announced his bid for Councillor of Ward 1 in Moncton.
Born in Moncton, Richard had previously planned to run before the pandemic started.
He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree focused on business management, political sciences and sociology from l’Université de Moncton, and a Human Resources Management Certificate from the University of New Brunswick.
Richard’s priorities include:
- Ensuring that all residents feel represented when making municipal decisions
- Encouraging business growth and recovery from the Covid19 pandemic
- Establishing a strategy that addresses homelessness and public safety
- Promoting environmentalism as well as our green spaces
- Highlighting heritage, arts and culture.
Since 2017 Richard has been putting his knowledge of economic development to use with Opportunities NB, at the Moncton regional office.
With an extensive track record in volunteer work, he is the founder and president of the Hub City Young Professional Network. In addition, he has contributed to the Junior Achievement New Brunswick Company Program, the Forest Glen School – Breakfast Program and is currently the treasurer of the Board of Directors for the “Station Acadie” Community Center.
The current Ward 1 Councillors are Paulette Theriault and Deputy Mayor Shawn Crossman.
