A former Halifax resident who has lived in Riverview for the last twelve years is running for councillor in Ward 4 in the May municipal elections.
Joseph Gangoo is a union delegate, an educator in the Anglophone East School District and a basketball coach.
He says he has a groundbreaking vision for Riverview which reflects youth, multiculturalism, economic growth and our well-being.
Gangoo believes his success moving forward will be connecting with the community to ensure the voices of residents are heard at council.
Gangoo is also a Red Seal Certified Carpenter and has been the Moncton Union Delegate for the Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights since 2018.
He was recently appointed to the board for the Carpenter Millwright College in Fredericton.
As a volunteer, he’s been active on the Parent School Support Committee at Claude D. Taylor School and a youth leader at the Moncton Wesleyan Church.
Gangoo is a board member with Riverview Minor basketball and an assistant coach with the U14 provincial boys team.
