As part of its next steps in pandemic recovery, Codiac Transpo is boosting service starting next Monday, May 17.
Transit officials say afternoon service is being increased with an additional bus on one route and two new routes being announced.
Route 1-Moncton West is a new route being added weekdays to serve the west end and will provide direct service downtown for transfers and to the Moncton Hospital.
Route 2-Moncton East is another new route on weekdays to increase service in the east end with an afternoon trip to Pine Tree Village and the Moncton Industrial Park West.
Meantime, the Route 50-Red Line will have another bus in the afternoon thanks to increased ridership since being introduced in mid-March.
This is Phase One of the transit recovery plan which came before Committee of the Whole on April 26 and was formally approved by Moncton City Council on May 3.
Codiac Transpo says it will continue monitoring ridership demand and adjust service and routes as much as possible to reflect passenger needs.
