Artwork from an amateur Moncton artist, will be featured on an upcoming television series.
Moncton resident Carron Moore says she has dabbled in canvas art, but this opportunity was much bigger than that, “This is my first exploration in large mural type paintings. It certainly would be something I would explore in the future.”
She was offered the chance by Jeramand Barns and Garages to paint six baby barn huts that are being used in the upcoming season of ‘Race Against the Tide’ that will air on CBC.
Moore says the huts will be used to store equipment for the teams competing to build sandcastles on New River Beach, west of Saint John..
Moore says she did not design the mural style art, the concepts came from the creative team, “I did have to reimagine them on a 16X12 foot canvas. The drawings that were provided were 8X10 letter size documents. Trying to render a 2D on a 3D surface was fun. It took around four or five hours a unit. My favourite is the one with the life preserver on it. The colours and concept, and we did some rope details. I just love the whole idea, it was a super fun project, watching the whole set up of the site was super entertaining. We often forget about all of the things that go on behind the scenes and the work that is involved.”
The baby barns are currently for sale, with delivery in October.
“Race Against the Tide will air beginning on September 9.
