A house fire in the Village of Petitcodiac has taken the life of an unknown man.
Craig Ramsay, the Fire chief of the Petitcodiac Fire Department, said they received a report of a possible structure fire on James Street at 6:13 p.m. Monday.
“Upon arrival, crews reported smoke showing. Fire suppression started concurrently with search,” said Ramsay.
Crews located an unknown male during the search and managed to remove him from the home.
“Death was pronounced on scene by Ambulance New Brunswick medics at 18:52,” said Ramsay.
The fire chief added that the home suffered heavy fire and smoke damage.
