The City of Moncton has announced a new Moncton Alerts platform.
Launched on Monday, the purpose of Moncton Alerts is to notify residents of the latest information in the event of an emergency.
Monctonians are encouraged to opt-in for alerts of road closures and emergencies through email and phone.
As of Monday, over 800 residents had signed up to receive alerts.
In addition, Moncton Alerts now includes a dashboard that allows users to easily access the necessary information during an emergency.
A similar concept and layout as the New Brunswick COVID-19 dashboard, Moncton alerts shows information on weather warnings, emergency warnings, power outages, tidal bore times and more.
