The Boys and Girls Club of Moncton is in need of a new bus.
Executive Director Moncef Lakouas says they’ve had their current vehicle for more than ten years, and it is getting very expensive to maintain, “We do transport kids from 15 different communities in Moncton every single day from Monday to Saturday. More than 100 kids use the bus on a weekly basis and it can be up to 600 kids in the summer months.”
The Club has launched a fundraising campaign, and donations are needed from the public, “To get a new bus is extremely high in price, around $100, 000. What we are asking is for the community to step up and support us like they have for the past 64 years, so we can still be there for those who need us the most,” Lakouas says.
“We are looking for a 20 passenger seat bus. What we are looking for is a bus that can accommodate as many kids as possible because the demand on transportation for the kids we do serve is extremely high,” he adds.
