Dec. 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
It marks 33 years since 14 women were gunned down at École Polytechnique in Montreal.
The Moncton & District Labour Council is organizing a candlelight vigil at Casely Park in Riverview.
“We will also commemorate our own victims from the Greater Moncton region who faced violent deaths, 24 since 1989,” the council said in a release.
Vigils and memorial services are also taking place in other communities around the province and across the country.
