A Moncton man has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail in a child pornography investigation.
Cameron James Estabrooks was arrested after a months-long investigation by the RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
The investigation began in October 2021 after police received information from the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.
Officers searched a Moncton home in May 2022, where they arrested Estabrooks and seized several electronic devices.
Two months later, Estabrooks was charged with three counts of possessing child porn and two counts of making child porn available.
He later pleaded guilty to a single count of each charge and, on Nov. 10, was sentenced to jail time.
Estabrooks has also been ordered to register with the National Sex Offender Registry and to submit a DNA sample.
