Residents and tourists now have a better way to explore Moncton’s history.
iTour Moncton, the city’s virtual self-guided video and audio tour, is getting a new interactive map and adding new places to visit.
Moncton Senior Planner Jean-Pierre Charron said that public Wi-Fi provided by the city will make the tour guide more convenient.
“Using new technology is always a good thing for most people that have a smartphone so it’s a convenient way to deliver that information to people,” said Charron.
Charron also said the conservation board’s five-year strategic plan includes making the guide more user-friendly.
“Kind of useful for everybody to have access to more information on heritage conservation and especially individual designated properties in the city,” he said.
The tour takes one hour to complete and guides sightseers to 30 locations across downtown Moncton, such as Victoria Block, the Flat Iron Building, and the Jordi Bonet Mural in English and French.
