The City of Moncton is hosting its first EclipSol event.
It’s to help celebrate the total solar eclipse on April 8.
Large crowds are expected to gather at Bore Park from noon until 6 p.m. for activities including face painting, live music, and a photo booth to capture the memory of this once-in-a-lifetime event.
“Mad Science will also be on-site to Emcee the event. They’ll explain the safety precautions and exactly what happens during a solar eclipse,” says Events and Festivals Manager Chad Gautreau.
The solar eclipse will begin at 3:26 p.m. in Moncton from the southwest and conclude at 5:43 p.m.
Solar eclipse glasses will be handed out, while supplies last.
“Solar eclipses are rare, making this a unique opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate this natural phenomenon,” says Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold.
“We encourage residents to take advantage of the special presentations at Resurgo Place to learn more about the eclipse and how to view it safely.”
