A woman is home safe thanks to the help of RCMP dog services and a drone.
Concerns were raised on Monday after a woman in her 70s was reported missing from her Moncton home.
Her family was worried because she was not dressed for the cold and had no wallet or cell phone.
Police Dog Services were called to the scene and the RCMP Remotely Piloted Aerial System (RPAS) was deployed, which is used by the RCMP to capture overhead images and videos to support RCMP operations.
Corporal Annick Thériault and her Police Service Dog ‘Reba’ located the woman, and a drone was used to locate the woman in a wooded area.
She was suffering from hypothermia and was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
