The 2024 Atlantic Regional Pickleball Championship will be played at the Coliseum and Agrena Complex from Thursday through Sunday.
Pickleball Moncton President Moe Belliveau says up to 400 players from New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia will compete on 24 courts in a round-robin-style tournament.
“They’ll be singles played on Friday, doubles of men’s and women’s on Saturday, and mixed doubles all day Sunday, so we’ll be going from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.,” said Belliveau.
Belliveau also says the event is free to attend, and raffle tickets will be available for a chance to play with national pickleball league players.
“I think people see it as a sport that started out as an oldies game, and I think people who come out and see it, they’ll see it’s getting younger and younger, more competitive and more athletic as the game progresses,” added Belliveau.
