Less than two years after being destroyed by fire, the Green Pig Country Market has officially reopened for business this month.
The Salisbury business on Fredericton Road sells locally grown produce, as well as products from a variety of local artisans.
It is known among New Brunswickers to have great atmospheres in not only the market but also its sunflower festival and corn maze events.
Dawn Beckwith, the owner of Green Pig Country Market, said the return of local support is wonderful to see.
“So many familiar faces and everybody was so happy to stop in and check out the new building, It has been an ongoing process and so everyone has been very curious and it was just great to see all of the regular customers,” said Beckwith.
Beckwith also said the new building is around 8,000 square feet, roughly double the size of the original market.
She stated the next steps going forward are new additions including a cafe planned for the winter, more space, and more locally made products.
