Three people have been arrested after an attempted armed robbery in Dieppe.
RCMP said officers were called to Acadie Avenue in the city around 10:15 p.m. Friday.
Investigators learned that a firearm had been discharged and the suspects had fled in a vehicle.
The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries unrelated to the shooting, said the release.
Officers located the suspect vehicle a short time later in the Fairview Knoll’s Park area and arrested the three suspects after they crashed their car.
A 33-year-old and a 34-year-old from Dieppe have been charged with robbery with a firearm and other firearms offences. The 33-year-old is also charged with flight from police.
Both have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to return to court at a later date.
A 29-year-old man, who was also arrested at the scene, was later released from custody pending a future court appearance.
Police said the victim and suspects were known to each other and that this was an isolated incident.
Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who was walking, travelling in, or who lives in the areas of Acadie Avenue or Fairview Knoll’s Park and may have security camera or dash cam footage from the time of the incident.
