The man who shot and injured a Riverview teacher more than four years ago will spend 10 years in prison.
Janson Bryan Baker was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty during his trial, according to media reports.
The sentence was a joint recommendation made by both the Crown and the defence.
The shooting took place outside of Riverview High School on the afternoon of Jan. 5, 2021.
Teacher Christopher Leger ws shot by Baker and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Baker fled the scene, prompting an hours-long manhunt that ended when he was arrested in Amherst, N.S., the next day.
He is also facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Dieppe couple Bernard and Rose-Marie Saulnier.
The Saulniers were found dead in their Amirault Street home on Sept. 7, 2019.
