Theatre enthusiasts got their first glimpse over the weekend of this year’s musical performance at Capitol Theatre.
Over 80 cast, crew and musicians are helping bring the Addams Family to life on the Capitol Theatre stage.
Each year, the production team comes up with something surprising for the audience.
This year, it’s a 16-foot diameter turn table resembling the ones used in Broadway productions like Hamilton and Come from Away.
“Seeing actors spin in and out of scenes will be a little mend bending, and will bring a Broadway production feel to our show,” said Kim Rayworth, Managing Director of the Capitol Theatre.
“Audiences can also look forward to references to regional locales, which aim to create a sense of familiarity and pride at this locally produced professional production. With a total production budget of $400,000, we are striving once again to create meaningful performance opportunities for professional actors in our region.”
It’s the eighth professional musical theatre production for partners Tutta Musica Orchestra and the Capitol Theatre.
It runs until March 2. Tickets can be purchased at the box office and online.
