A heads up if you are planning on heading to the Mill Creek Nature Park in Riverview this week.
There will be closures as crews begin tree clearing ahead of a stormwater management project.
The detention pond will support new housing in Carriage Hill and the Riverview Recreation Complex while improving flood protection and water quality.
“This nature-based pond will integrate wetland vegetation, ensuring a sustainable solution for managing stormwater in East Riverview,” the town said ina news release.
A portion of the Wren’s Way and Meadow Hill trails will be closed from Monday through Friday.
The Mill Creek Nature Trail will also be from Runnymeade Road as well as the Bridgedale Boulevard parking lot.
Officials recommend using the Robertson Street entrance to access the park.
Pond construction is expected to begin in late April and last until early August. The same trails will be closed during that time.
You can view a map of the closures on the town’s website.
