Concerns surrounding scooter use in the City of Moncton were raised at this week’s council meeting.
Councillor Shawn Crossman asked where the city currently sits with respect to the electric vehicles.
“While attending the Wildcats game on Saturday night, coming out of the Avenir Centre, they were basically scooting by everybody pretty recklessly. There doesn’t seem to be any sort of rules or regulations with regard to this.”
Chief Administrative Officer Serge Doucet says administration has been working and meeting over the last couple of weeks to look at the situation.
“I believe we’ll have something by the end of the month, in regards to our path forward on potential bylaws and whatnot.”
Use is on the rise after a scooter rental company recently moved to Moncton from Halifax.
