Mounties say a 37-year-old man has been charged following an aggravated assault in Elsipogtog First Nation.
Officers responded to a report of an altercation near a residence on Oak Street around 1:45 a.m. on May 18.
A man had been seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, said police.
Police searched a home on May 21 and seized two baseball bats in connection with the investigation.
They also arrested a 37-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman at the scene, while a 24-year-old man was taken into custody later that same day.
The 37-year-old man appeared in court on May 22 and was charged with aggravated assault. He has since been released on conditions pending a future court appearance.
Police said the other two people arrested were later released on conditions.
