RCMP have arrested a Sussex man in connection with a fatal crash near Woodstock that killed two people last fall.
Police reported the incident on September 26, 2024, when a vehicle lost control and went into the ditch on Highway 2 near Hay Settlement, just south of Woodstock.
Authorities say a 45-year-old man died at the scene, while a 43-year-old was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
At the time, police believed a third person may have been in the vehicle, but their identity was unknown.
While the recent arrest raises questions about whether the Sussex man was that individual, the RCMP have not confirmed this.
The 37-year-old man was taken into custody on Monday but has since been released.
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 19.
