I got the honor last weekend to be in attendance at the Make a Move for Scleroderma event that took place at Mapleton Park.
This event is created to generate awareness and also to raise funds for Scleroderma Atlantic Society.
I was able to speak with the organizer, Jason Ducette, a little bit of what the event is all about. Jason has been doing this event since 2013 and absolutely put his heart and soul into it every year.

Moncton is one of 5 location this walk takes place. Other Locations are:
- St. John’s, NL
- Sydney, NS
- Charlottetown, PEI
- Bedford, NS
At the Moncton Location alone there was already 25 walkers! What a lovely group of people!

Also in attendance was Ginette Petitpas-Taylor (Member of Parlement)

And also, Dave Steeves (City of Moncton)

All in support for this event.
So, what is Scleroderma?
Scleroderma is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system attacks its own tissues. It is a complex disease with many possible symptoms that can affect various parts of the body. it is very highly individualized, so symptoms and severity differ greatly. The cause for this disease is unknown. it is not considered hereditary. it is not contagious. Today scleroderma has no cure. Research is our only hope.

Therefore, fundraising and gaining awareness on this disease is highly important.
Overall, it was a very beautifully organized event supporting such a vital cause, truly inspiring event.
Thank you, Scleroderma Atlantic for letting me stop by.
