A Sackville family now has a place to call home thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
A home dedication celebration was held yesterday in Tantramar for the family of four.
Their move into the three-bedroom bungalow is expected in the next couple of weeks.
It is one of several Habitat NB homes nearing completion in the province.
“Habitat NB makes affordable home ownership attainable by removing barriers that make owning a home impossible for many families throughout the province,” says Perry Kendall, CEO for Habitat for Humanity New Brunswick. “All Habitat homes are constructed with above energy efficiency standards, and monthly mortgage payments are geared to annual household income, making these homes affordable for families long-term.”
This is the 22nd affordable home that the province and Habitat for Humanity New Brunswick have built together since 2023.
The non-profit organization receives up to $100,000 per unit from the government for the construction of new homes.
The Government of Canada has also provided $1.7 million towards Habitat homes projects in New Brunswick.
