A man suffered minor injuries after fireworks were allegedly fired at him from a moving vehicle near Miramichi.
RCMP say it happened on July 18 around 10:30 p.m. on Route 108 in Quarryville.
A vehicle approached the man while he was walking along the side of the road. Two people inside allegedly fired fireworks at him before driving off.
Police arrested a 19-year-old man from Blackville in connection with the assault on Sunday.
He appeared in provincial court Monday and was charged with:
- Using explosives with intent to cause bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon contrary to an order
- Failure to comply with a probation order
- Resisting arrest
He remains in custody with a future court date.
RCMP later arrested a second 19-year-old from Blackville on Monday.
He was released with conditions and is expected to appear in court in November.
