A water main break on Amirault Street in Dieppe means some homes and businesses will need to boil their water until further notice.
The break, which happened on Tuesday morning, led to water services being shut off in the area for several hours.
In an update on Tuesday afternoon, officials said repairs were done and crews were in the process of restoring the drinking water supply.
“The work that was scheduled for this evening has therefore been cancelled, but the boil water advisory remains in effect until further notice,” said the update.
Properties affected are located from 2135 to 2685 Amirault, 16 and 19 Léonide, as well as all residents of André, Bayview, Carter, Dover, Florida, Freda, Jessica, J.F. Bourgeois, Joanne, Jocelyn, Kristian, Marco, Raphaël, Sophie, Telex, Ulysse and Vézina streets, and Domaine Dover Estates.
Residents are being asked to boil their water for at least one minute before consuming it.
This includes drinking, preparing infant formulas and juices, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking, brushing teeth and dental hygiene
