After several months off due to health reasons, Rothesay MLA Alyson Townsend is returning to a Ministerial role.
Premier Susan Holt says Townsend will serve in the role of Labour Minister.
Townsend took a leave for treatment in February after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
She previously served as Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Training, and Labour.
Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Jean Claude D’Amours took on the acting role during Townsend’s leave.
Holt says D’Amours will continue in the role of Minister of post-secondary education and training.
It is so important for government to have a voice at the table when it comes to promoting and supporting labour in this province. I'm so happy to welcome back and thank Minister Alyson Townsend for stepping up to take on the role of Minister of Labour.
