The public was asked to avoid the Mountain Road, Gorge Road, Frampton Lane and Briardale Drive area on Saturday.
RCMP posted to social media just before 3 p.m., stating that a police operation was underway.
Several police cruisers, Moncton Fire and Ambulance NB were present in the neighbourhood.
Moncton Fire was also called in to fight a fire at a home on Briardale Drive.
Platoon Chief Paul Bruens told our newsroom that due to the nature of the situation, all calls were being referred to the RCMP.
The police operation concluded about an hour later.
RCMP say officers will remain in the area as part of the investigation.
