A boil water order has finally been lifted for residents in the south end of Dieppe.
The order had been in place since the end of August for an area of Amirault Street near Dover Road along with side streets and included Dover Estates.
The properties affected included:
- 2152 and 2135 Amirault to 2685 Amirault
- 16 and 19 Léonide
- 301 to 818 Dover Road
- all properties located on Freda, Marco, Kristian, J.-F. Bourgeois, Vézina, Raphaël, Joanne, Carter and Bayview
When a boil order is lifted, the city recommends the following:
- Cold interior and exterior water faucets: Run tap water for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Hot water faucets: Run tap water for at least 15 minutes for a 40-gallon hot water tank and at least 30 minutes for a 80-gallon hot water tank or larger.
- Water dispensers from refrigerators should be flushed with at least one litre of water before consumption.
- After flushing hot and cold water pipes, run dishwasher empty one time.
- Discard any water used in humidifiers and rinse the device with clean water.
- Automatic ice dispensers should be emptied of ice made during the boil water order. Then, discard any ice made over an additional 24-hour period to assure that any potential contaminated water has been discarded.
If you notice a lack of water pressure or discoloured water, call Dieppe Public Works at 877-7990 or 850-5104 (after business hours).
