A three-storey apartment building in Riverview has been damaged by fire.
First responders were called to Pine Glen Road around 8:50 p.m. Monday.
Chief Robin True said the first crews on the scene found heavy fire on a second-floor balcony.
The fire was already extending up the exterior of the building to the third floor, he said.
True said crews quickly knocked down the balcony and siding fire and then extended a second attack line into the second floor to fully extinguish the blaze.
“Although the structure sustained heavy exterior damage, involving three balconies and siding on the front of the building, the fast action of firefighting crews limited interior damage,” True said in an email.
Three apartment units sustained water and smoke damage as a result of the fire, said the chief.
Two adults from one unit are receiving temporary accommodations through the Canadian Red Cross. The remaining tenants were able to return home after about two hours.
No injuries were reported among any of the tenants or the more than two dozen firefighters on the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
